Causes of Extinction
1. Climate Change
Climate change, like global warming, causes many plants and animals to die out because they've adapted to survive in a different environment.
2. Habitat Loss
Habitat loss due to development by humans is a major cause of extinction. Plants and animals suddenly find themselves with no where to live and die.
Poaching, or the illegal hunting, fishing, harvesting, or trapping of wild animals and plants, can cause endangered species to go extinct. In Aisa, the body parts of many animals (such as seahorses, rhinos, binturong, and tigers) are believed to have magical properties like curing cancer.
